The elegant, 18th-century Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar has a newly-refurbished restaurant within its walls, and the team behind its new look didn’t need to look too far for inspiration.
Architect Antonio Girardi, in collaboration with Rebirth Design Studio, created a tranquil indoor garden setting with a subtle, pared back design that allows the Palazzo’s many architectural marvels to shine.

A palm print wallpaper in soft, sandy tones adorns some of the old walls of this private residence, the colours of which exist in harmony with the stonework.
The colour palette is largely neutral – various shades of pastel green are introduced through the soft furnishings and upholstery, carried out by Interior Outfitters, while the light fittings add bronze accents that glimmer against the light-coloured walls.

All around the restaurant is evidence of this refurbishment’s attention to detail and local influence. Portrait artist Philippa Bianchi created custom, hand-painted lampshades, while on the walls, the works of renowned Maltese photographers, including Kurt Arrigo, are hung alongside old heirloom paintings.
