Colours of Introspection – Elaine Mifsud
In her second solo exhibition, curated by Prof. Louis Lagana, Elaine Mifsud presents Colours of Introspection – a collection of 21 paintings inspired my personal reflections and emotions channelled through colour. On display at Bizzilla Art Space at The Mall in Floriana, “This collection explores several themes of introspection. The present moment becomes the focal point, capturing the intensity of being in the here and now,” says the artist, who would like viewers to “take a message of hope and positivity, that even in dull moments of pure blackness, if we search deep within, we can still find various traces of colour.” 6-28th August
Inspired by History: From Tapestries to Contemporary Fashion – Heritage Malta
Heritage Malta invites visitors to the Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta to witness the return of the historic tapestries alongside a contemporary exhibition of fashion creations by Charles & Ron inspired by the same tapestries. Depicting exotic scenes of flora and fauna from lands newly discovered in the preceding century, these magnificent works have been treasured within the Grand Master’s Palace since 1710, following their commission in 1708 by the newly elected Grand Master Ramon Perellos y Roccaful. Mela – Reggie Burrows Hodges
The Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS) is hosting an expansive exhibition, titled Mela by Reggie Burrows Hodges – the California-born artist of international acclaim exhibiting in Europe for the first time. The major solo exhibition, featuring over 30 paintings and curated by MICAS Artistic Director Edith Devaney, comprises a new body of work created during the artist’s extended time in Malta in 2025, informed by his experiences on the islands, its people, landscapes, culture and history. Until 30th August.
Hidden Goddesses – Unseen paintings by Giorgio Preca
Never-before-seen paintings by pioneering Maltese artist Giorgio Preca are presented in dialogue with some of the oldest artefacts at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. Hidden Goddesses unveils a collection of 31 artworks – including a self-portrait, all produced while the artist was living abroad – inspired by the Maltese goddess of fertility, revealing his artistic maturity and engagement with Maltese cultural heritage. Until 4th October.
ICA Festival 2026 – MCAST
The 10th edition of the MCAST ICA Festival celebrates the creative achievements of students from twelve Bachelor of Arts (Honours) courses at the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts in Mosta, spanning a broad spectrum of disciplines, from conservation, creative media production and fashion to fine art, journalism, product and spatial design. The exhibition offers students a valuable platform to exhibit their work and talents to a wider audience as well as stakeholders. Until 16th August.
Living Landscapes - An Impressionist Vision of Gozo – Frances Saliba
Experience the beauty of Gozo and its landscapes through Frances Saliba’s latest exhibition of impressionist paintings, titled Living Landscapes: An Impressionist Vision of Gozo, on display at the Banca Giuratale, Independence Square in Victoria, Gozo. A curated collection of 20 landscape paintings demonstrates the artist’s distinctive style that captures the island’s natural charm through vibrant colours, rich oil palettes, and expressive palette-knife techniques, celebrating place, light, and emotion in a cultural setting. 7th-23rd August.
