Mercury Towers, the major development in the centre of St Julian’s, will be opening its doors for shopping, dining and entertainment in September 2023, in the first phase of its six-month launch period.
This phase will see the opening of 80 multi-category lifestyle brands, a diverse portfolio of food and beverage concepts and a range of entertainment options for the family. Mercury Towers will be fully operational early next year, and include accommodation, residential and wellness facilities.

At the heart of this development and the inspiration behind its name is the Grade II listed Mercury House, built in 1903, which has been restored in the process. The historic site was constructed to house the area’s telephone exchange at the time, and is now part of the foundation of the 33-storey Mercury Tower.
Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, this project is believed to be one of the last designs imagined by the pioneering architect, who died in 2016. Hadid left behind an outstanding legacy, with a vast portfolio of works that changed principles in what can be achieved with building materials, including concrete, steel and glass, while leaving her mark through the ever-present curve.
