The Hard Rock Cafe international franchise, represented in Malta by db Group, has expanded its footprint in Valletta with a dedicated merchandise shop in Republic Street.
The store, which previously formed part of the restaurant located along the Valletta Waterfront, is now housed in a refurbished shop along the city’s main street, selling a range of merchandise that includes clothing, pins, memorabilia and more.
Architect and interior designer Lorena De Nardi Placedino, who worked on its design on behalf of db Group, described the project as a “rocking challenge”.
“I had the incredible opportunity to work on a challenging interior architecture project for one of the most iconic brands in the world – Hard Rock!” she shared.
“Together with my amazing team at db Group Malta we aimed to amplify the brand’s legendary rock spirit while seamlessly blending it with the local architectural heritage. A touch of rock and colour in the most famous street in the country – what more could you ask for?”
Featuring a vaulted ceiling, the exposed stone complements the peach walls and complementary floor tiles in peach and white. A yellow neon sign fixed to the ceiling of the store draws the eye upwards, inviting visitors to scan the space as well as the ample merchandise hanging on its walls.

“It was amazing to be part of this journey with such a talented team, and I’m thrilled with the outcome,” the architect wrote.
