Artist James Vella Clark has announced a new exhibition of works, titled New Forms, which will be displayed within the stylish settings of Form’s showroom in Msida.
The exhibition, which marks a departure from the traditional gallery setting, will include a collection of around 15 large pieces on canvas in the artist’s familiar abstract expressionist approach, with the aim of igniting a conversation about the intersection of art and living spaces.
“Exhibiting my work within the confines of a home interiors showroom might seem an unconventional choice but this exhibition at Form promises to elevate the way we perceive art in our homes today, creating an immersive experience that resonates deeply with the essence of our times,” the artist explains.
“This exhibition will not only be about my continuous pursuit of artistic freedom but should hopefully also serve as a testament to the enduring beauty of art in an ever-changing world, and an invitation to acknowledge that the freedom that art brings with it, is best embraced in homes.”
Cristina Galea, Marketing Manager at Form, describes this collaboration as a new chapter for the brand. “We are proud to be hosting Vella Clark’s works in our space, where we both share a common vision and passion for creating exceptional living environments,” she says.
“We hope that Vella Clark’s paintings, set within our showroom’s newly reinterpreted space, will inspire and enrich visitors’ understanding of art in our lives.”
James’s vibrant interpretations of the Maltese urban and rural landscape has made him a prominent advocate of expressionism in Malta. He captures scenes that are at once abstract and familiar, often featuring church domes and steeples characteristic of Malta’s skyline.
The works will be on display from 30th November until 31st January.
