The Queue – Francesca Balzan
Sculptor Francesca Balzan will be displaying an impressive line-up of 50 busts – or rather characters and personalities in her trademark endearing, tongue-in-cheek style – in her latest exhibition The Queue; the culmination of two years’ work which will open up to the public on 14th March inside the Reading Room at Casino Maltese in Valletta. From 14th March.
Floriography – Vania Goshe
Bulgarian artist Vania Goshe presents a vivid collection of paintings to visitors and viewers at Phonenicia Malta through her solo exhibition Floriography held throughout March to coincide with International Women’s Day. Through her expressive brushwork and joyful palette, Vania invites viewers to experience the emotive and symbolic language of flowers. From 7th-31st March.
Glitch: Ontological Exhaustions & System Failures
Spazju Kreattiv at St James Cavailier will be hosting Glitch: Ontological Exhaustion & System Failures until May, an exhibition curated by Verena Voigt that seeks to raise and amplify reflections on digitality and resistance, history and remembrance, where aesthetic “disruptions” (glitches) challenge the audience to reflect on their technology-dependent society. From 14th March-4th May.
Francis Ebejer Centenary
A lifetime of work by literary giant and visual artist Francis Ebejer is being marked throughout 2025 on what would have been his 100th birthday. The centenary celebrations kicked off with an exhibition at Art by the Seaside gallery in Isla, curated by the artist’s son Damian Ebejer, displaying a collection of unique artworks, doodled notes and photographs of and by the late artist. Tactum Aureum – Fabio Borg
Drawing inspiration from the myth of King Midas, whose touch turned everything to gold, Fabio Borg’s latest solo exhibition, Tactum Aureum (The Golden Touch), curated by Melanie Erixon and being held at Il-Kamra ta’ Fuq in Mqabba, serves as a call to pause and reflect. Executed with a sense of urgency, the works capture fleeting moments and raw emotions, mirroring the fast-paced nature of modern life. Until 9th March.
Adrift in Life, or Whatever – Darryl Schembri
Tattoo artist Darryl Schembri combines his dual identities as a tattooist and artist, focusing more on figurative art and abstraction in his solo exhibition at Bizzilla Art Space in Floriana, curated by Melanie Erixon. His recent works reflect his emotional landscape and personal struggles, which although emerged from turbulent experiences, achieve harmony, emphasising the therapeutic impact of his artistic journey. Until 20th March.
