Urban design and architecture studio Studjurban has secured two wins at the Big See Architecture Awards, held annually in Slovenia.
Two of the firm’s projects, Dawl and Birgu’s Living Piazza, were celebrated for their distinctive contributions to residential and public space design, respectively, placing Studjurban alongside globally renowned architects and design offices.
Dawl, honoured in the residential houses category, was singled out for its thoughtful integration of modern design principles with sustainable living solutions, while Birgu’s Living Piazza, designed by studio founder Dr Antoine Zammit, Perit Dorianne Cachia and Perit Shannon Farrugia, received the award in the Public / Open Space and Landscape category.
The award recognised the public square for the transformation of communal space into a vibrant hub for cultural and social engagement.
“Receiving two Big See Awards in a single year is a testament not only to our team’s dedication and vision but also to Malta’s growing presence on the international architecture stage,” says Antoine.
“The two awards reflect Studjurban’s continued commitment to excellence in architecture and urban design through designs that are both contextually rooted and globally relevant, fostering meaningful connections between people, space, and community.”
Both projects are featured on the official Big See platform and will be exhibited as part of the awards ceremony in Slovenia from 21st to 22nd May 2026. The event forms part of the broader Big Architecture Festival featuring conferences, debates, and a trade show in Portorož, Slovenia.
