THE STUDIO
STUDJURBAN is an award-winning Maltese architecture and urban design boutique consultancy founded in 2012 that champions high-quality, context-led design. Now more than a decade into practice, the studio immerses itself in the layers that give each place its identity – its history, patterns of movement, climate, culture and everyday life – and translates those insights into clear, buildable design responses.
Through an iterative philosophy that links policy, research and collaboration to design, STUDJURBAN works to set a higher benchmark for Malta’s urban and architectural quality and to strengthen public awareness of place as a shared civic asset.

These initiatives reflect the studio’s wider mission – to challenge car-dominant, short-term planning norms and to shape a more liveable, people-centred Maltese urban environment.

THE TEAM
Dr Antoine Zammit is the founder and director of STUDJURBAN. He works at the intersection of design and governance, translating complex urban conditions – heritage sensitivity, mobility pressures, public-space performance and liveability – into clear strategies that can be negotiated, approved and delivered. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta’s Department of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, reinforcing a research-led mindset in real-world delivery.

Antoine’s strength lies in turning urban complexity into legible design decisions – setting robust spatial frameworks, guiding stakeholder dialogue and ensuring that design intent survives value engineering and construction realities.
His approach is systems-based and outcomes-driven – where street design, public space, building performance and everyday social life are treated as interconnected parts of the same urban ecosystem.
