In a cross collaboration that coincides with Porsche’s 75th anniversary since first hitting the road, the premium automaker teamed up with paint company Backdrop to bring a touch of its iconic vehicles into the home for the first time.
Known for its paint colours as much as the timeless design of its cars, Porsche created a collection of four limited-edition colours with the aim “to inspire unique interior designs.”
Available until the end of 2023, the range includes Irish Green, a colour as timeless as one of the cars it was first used on, the Porsche 911; the bright and sunny Speed Yellow; Ruby Star, which was first used in 1991 and channels a bold and energetic mood with its deep magenta hue, and Riviera Blue, a bright electric blue that was originally developed in 1994.
Porsche’s Vice President of Marketing, Ayesha Coker, says “Individualization is at the core of Porsche. Whether it’s a custom-built Taycan or your home office, we want to inspire all to dream in full colour. Together with Backdrop, we’ve curated a series of bright, saturated colors that have significance to us and are sure to bring the beloved Porsche aesthetic to your home interior design.”
Co-Founder of Backdrop, Natalie Ebel, says everything the company does revolves around colour, which made this collaboration a “dream come true, especially during its 75th anniversary year, and to be inspired by its rich history. I am incredibly excited to translate our shared love of design and spirit of self-expression into a collection that will take on new life in our homes and on our walls.”
