The practice works primarily across residential architecture, interior architecture, and renovation projects. Operating within Malta’s distinctive built environment – where contemporary living often intersects with historic structures and dense urban settings – the studio is particularly interested in the transformation and reinterpretation of existing spaces. Its work explores how contemporary architectural interventions can coexist sensitively with traditional materials, spatial qualities, and the character of local architecture.
Each project begins with a careful understanding of the client’s lifestyle, the site’s characteristics, and the spatial potential of the building. Through a collaborative design process, the studio develops tailored architectural solutions that prioritise spatial quality, natural light, material expression, and functionality.

Perit Rebecca Zammit is the founder and principal architect of her.architecture.
With over 13 years of experience in architectural design, her work reflects a careful balance between creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of how people experience and inhabit space.
Rebecca earned her architectural qualifications from the University of Malta and furthered her studies at the Politecnico di Milano. This academic experience helped shape her design perspective, combining rigorous architectural thinking with a strong sensitivity to context, materiality, and spatial experience.
Following her studies, Rebecca spent six years working with a local architectural design firm, where she developed her professional skills and gained valuable experience across a wide range of architectural and interior projects.
She later established her own studio, which she has been leading for the past seven years. During this time, her projects have been featured in various local magazines and online design platforms, reflecting the distinctive character of her work.
Rebecca’s design approach has been recognised through several awards and commendations. In 2018, she received the award for Best Interior Architecture for Residential Projects at the Malta Architects Association Awards, together with a special mention at the Premju Emanuele Luigi Galizia. More recently, she received a special commendation at the MASP Awards in 2023 for her project in Wied iż-Żurrieq.
She takes a deeply personal approach to every project, beginning each design by understanding the story of the space and the aspirations of her clients. Committed to continuous professional development, Rebecca has also obtained accreditation as a Passive House Designer, strengthening her expertise in sustainable and energy-efficient architecture.
Alongside her professional work, Rebecca is also a mother, and this perspective continues to inspire her commitment to designing spaces that contribute positively to the built environment and future generations.
