As Barbie fever intensified in anticipation of the film’s July 2023 release, home hosting company, Airbnb jumped on the train with a real-life Barbie dreamhouse located in Malibu, California. And it doesn’t skimp on the pink.
The three-floor oceanfront mansion boasts a slew of fun features associated with the Mattel doll, including a water slide connected to an infinity pool, an outdoor dancefloor decorated with pink and gold fringe, a gym and barbecue area – all in the titular shade.
A maximalist bedroom decorated in the Ken-inspired cowboy theme overlooks the impressive coastline view, and includes a handful of outfits and accessories sported by the film’s main characters.
The home was initially listed by Airbnb in 2019, for Barbie’s 60th anniversary. However, the property was updated and given a good dose of “Kenergy”, according to Airbnb’s release, in celebration of the doll’s live-action debut.
“Ken has revamped part of Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse with everything he loves (rollerblading, anyone?),” it said. “Barbie’s signature pink remains ever-present throughout the life-size, toy-inspired home, as she’s done her own redecorating since the last time the Malibu DreamHouse was available for guests.”
