ION Harbour
Set within Iniala Harbour House along Barbara Bastions in Valletta, ION Harbour – Malta’s only two-Michelin star restaurant – boasts a spectacular view of Fort St Angelo and the Grand Harbour from inside its contemporary interiors as well as its charming terrace; a sight for sore eyes, especially at sunset.
Chophouse
Whether seated by the large glass windows or on the terrace, the view of Valletta’s skyline from Chophouse restaurant is simply sublime. The dome of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and spire of St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral loom over the city, creating an idyllic backdrop only amplified by the restaurant’s own enchanting interiors.
Alto
Along Triq Is-Sajjieda that leads towards Wied-Iz-Zurrieq is Aalto restaurant – a space that reflects the untamed beauty of its surroundings, blended with an air of luxury that’s evident in each of its chosen finishes. From the first-floor terrace, soothing sea views extend as far as Filfla, anchored by the red facade of a nearby landmark house built in the 1950s.
The Harbour Club
With its unique position, The Harbour Club – located on Liesse Hill in Valletta – has its greatest inspiration right on its doorstep. Inside, the ambiance of the converted warehouse built in 1712 is cosy and elegant, featuring the recycled deck of an American ship, while on the terrace, the expansive harbour view is in a league of its own.
One80
Up north, One80 Kitchen & Lounge enjoys a tranquil view. Nestled on the scenic hill that connects the Mellieħa Parish church to Mellieħa Bay, guests can enjoy sights of both. The 19th century church dedicated to the Nativity of Mary sits high up on the hill, creating an unmistakable presence that’s only rivalled by an orange sky at sunset with views as far as the Red Tower.
Le GV
The one-Michelin-star fine-dining Le GV restaurant, located on the rooftop of the 1926 Le Soleil Hotel & Spa in Sliema, boasts an interior inspired by the luxurious aesthetic of the Orient Express. Step outside onto the terrace, and opulent details are replaced by a view of twinkling city lights and scenic sunsets that too transport guests to dreamy, delightful places.
