The rise of neutral interiors appears to be levelling out with the desire for equally popular expressive interiors, where colour, pattern, tones and texture are used freely to bring character and individuality to a space. Few design elements can achieve this singlehandedly the way floor and wall coverings do – an entire room can be defined by its wall paint, wallpaper or, of course, its tiles.
As homeowners increasingly yearn for natural-looking and lived-in spaces, ceramic tiles with a brushed effect can help achieve this; and a broad range designed by Italian manufacturers Fincibec Group is on display at Banju Boutique, which has been representing the tile suppliers locally since 1999.
“The brushed effect is a special way of working a ceramic surface to produce a slight but continuous glossy effect which evenly underlines the material’s structure,” a representative for Fincibec explains, adding that this surface finish highlights the product’s aesthetic features, the depth of colour and the realism of details in various graphic designs, be it marble or stone.
“The brushed finishing is an attractive solution, capable of bringing elegance and, at the same time, offering the necessary performance in terms of safety, resistance to wear and easy cleaning,” they say, adding that the vast choice of options by Fincibec is ever growing, “while always meeting the need for completeness and versatility.”
Created from a mixture of clays, feldspar, sand and kaolin – and completely free from plastic materials – the Group’s products are also environmentally conscious and, as ceramic is a sustainable building material, it is also completely recyclable.
Below, we zero in on tile collections by Fincibec available through Banju Boutique that emphasise the appeal of brushed surfaces, be it for the wall, floor or both.
Azimuth
The Azimuth collection is a contemporary evolution of the use of ceramic material applied to modern-day living spaces. Suitable for both interior and exterior spaces and available in a natural, brushed or grip surface, Azimuth presents a versatile array of stone-effect porcelain solutions in five earthy tones, aimed at combining functional design needs with an original aesthetic akin to bespoke-looking finishes.
On Stage
Through this collection, the enduring beauty of marble is translated into durable, fine porcelain stoneware, where vivid and refined colours create captivating combinations for the floors, walls or even furniture elements. The six available colours range from the neutral Riverside option to the daring Adelphi model that plays with a medley of dark hues, creating a striking setting in any room.
Medley
With Medley, the raw qualities of brushed ceramic come to the fore as the only available finish in this collection. Intricate and remarkably accurate marble patterns in all seven of Medley’s models – ranging from the golden hues of Majesty to the intense veining of the Note design – project a sense of modern luxury with all the benefits of porcelain.
