Adding to a growing list of colour predictions for the year ahead is British interiors brand Graham & Brown’s choice of colour and design for 2024 – and both are positively nature-inspired.
Its design choice, called New Eden, features a hand-painted forestscape in emerald green, while its colour choice is a more subdued shade of green, called Viridis, which the company describes as a ‘mid-green’ that complements the vivid shades of New Eden.

Graham & Brown’s head of design, Maryanne Cartwright, describes Viridis as a “hue that reflects harmony and stability, enabling those in its vicinity to relax and revitalise.”
The colour, which mirrors nature, expresses renewal and life, she says. “It evokes a feeling of abundance and a plentiful environment whilst simultaneously providing a restful and secure feeling.”
The design choice for 2024 is inspired by a desire to form deeper connections with nature, where gardens increasingly become an extension of the kitchen, bringing the outdoors in, says Maryanne.
“With the powerful health benefits of biophilia and forest bathing, we have captured this essence in New Eden to enable you to create these natural spaces indoors and ensure there is a welcoming environment for guests.”
The design can be created as a custom wall mural (main image), wallpaper (above), as well as for curtains and blinds, and is available in five other colours, including mulberry and navy.
