Qawl Milbus - Nadège Cassar and Alfie Gatt
Qawl Milbus is a collaborative exhibition by contemporary jewellery artist Nadege Cassar and artist and painter Alfie Gatt that reimagines Maltese proverbs through the intersection of contemporary jewellery and fine art, transforming Maltese language and traditions into a contemporary visual narrative. These works, on display at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta, exist simultaneously as complete works of art and as wearable objects, allowing the jewellery to be carefully removed, worn, and returned to the artwork. Until 16th October.

Outdoors – Debbie Bonello
For her fourth solo exhibition being held at Phoenicia Malta, Debbie Bonello presents works created entirely on site in the Maltese islands and neighbouring Sicily over the past two years. She explores the shifting balance between abstraction and representation, responding directly to the landscapes, weather and atmospheric conditions she encounters, revealing the skill, stamina and sustained observation demanded by painting outdoors. Until 30th October.
Stand Up to be Counted – Sue Gregory
Currently on display at Teatru Salesjan in Sliema is a collection of watercolour and acrylic paintings by Sue Gregory, whose work spans from family portraits in her signature Long People style to abstract crowds. The latter takes centre stage in this exhibition, drawing on the importance of standing up to be counted, whether on national issues, the workplace or among family and friends, featuring her distinct trait of painting on to the mount. Until 28th October.
Reflections Through Time – A Collective Exhibition
Malta-based Inese Refalo, Latvia-based Zeltite Upeniece, and Sicily-based Francesca Puglisi explore how the passing of time shapes our memories, inviting visitors to pause and reconnect with the moments and relationships that often go unnoticed in Reflections Through Time at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta. Combining interactive elements with painting, printmaking and mixed media, the works invite us to stay a little longer, explore and reflect how time shapes the way we see the world around us. 9th-23rd October.
Framed in Focus: ADHD Women
This exhibition at Spazju Kreattiv explores the tension that exists between rigid expectations of womanhood in Malta and the experience of living with a neurodivergent brain. Through unedited disposable camera photography, ten ADHD AFAB individuals capture their internal landscapes, where their images function as meaning systems, revealing hidden personal narratives of milestones, sensory chaos, and a world that refuses to be filtered out. Framed in Focus extends beyond the gallery as an act of neuro-inclusion and active citizenship in Malta. Until 1st November.
